The Holy Qur'an and Jesus Christ as Realized in Devotional Emotion for Imam al-Husayn

By: Dr. Audes Astanbulin

What is the relationship between Imam al-Husayn's revolution and the Holy Bible?

It is our responsibility vis-à-vis Allah and humanity. What can we add to what he said over 1,400 years? How did the intelligent and heart feel moved and activated to understand the message and revivalism of Imam al-Husayn? I want to render an analysis and understand the holy will-power through the devotional emotions expressed in favor of Imam al-Husayn. There are many verses refer to this destiny and will-power both in the Holy Quran and in the Bible. Here, Imam al-Husayn's global message is made plain.

The word "emotion" means the "love" which the human beings' hearts contact through the agency of God. It follows that Imam al-Husayn's gestures as a love through whom the devotional relation between the human beings and Allah is expressed. Imam al-Husayn was raised in the house of prophethood, hence his spirit was replete with the Divine light. He sacrificed himself to rescue the human beings. Imam al-Husayn's revolution was not for the sake of gaining political authority, rather he wanted to maintain and safeguard the rules laid in the Holy Qur'an, as the Almighty Allah mentions in the Holy Qur'an. Therefore, upon checking the speech of Imam al-Husayn's speeches, one finds that he defended the right of Allah as expressed in the Quran. In one of his speeches he enquired people whether they received his announcement that his intent was to encourage doing the good and forbidding doing the evil. He further made a reference to a couple of verses in the Sura Maryam [Mary] in the Holy Quran.

In order to understand this blessing revolt, we must pay attention to Jesus' conversation with Jewish (as indicated in the Bible). This is indicated in the way he foretold Imam al-Husayn's revolt hundreds of years in advance. He said "you know the right …and the right will free you". Elsewhere, Jesus Christ remarked as follows: "Now you seek to kill me... I'm a human being and may hath told the truth that he heard from God that didn't do by Ibrahim ... You are doing the works of your father ... You are from father He was devil and a murderer from the beginning ... That has been proven right .. Because it is not the right But because I tell the truth, and you do not believe me ... who he is from Allah will hear the words of Allah ... So you are not hear well, Because you are not messenger of Allah."

Now, let us listen to Imam al-Husayn's words. While addressing others, he remarked thus: "O Allah, You know that was not what was competitive in the caliph not to seek the curiosity of debris, but to see the monuments of your religion and show of reform in your country, and safe oppressed of Thy servants. If you aren't assist us the darkness will force you, and they worked to put out the light of your Prophet."
On the morning of Ashura, he tried, once more, to rescue people from the ravages of the devil: His discourse was as follows: "O people! Hark!Listen to my speech ... Make haste even to realize that I have shown you the Right way. Didn't the Prophet Muhammad inform you on me and my brother? He emphasized that 'These two leaders are the youth of Paradise?' "

After all attempts of rescue, he described them -- as Jesus did with the Jews-- in the following way: "O You slaves of the world! You are foreigners' parties, the League of sin and the devil, most of whom want to change the voice of the Right by various ways but the Almighty Allah does protect His religion."
Finally, I should like to say to the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt whom were martyred together with Imam al-Husayn that we wish we had been present at Karbala on Ashura to sacrifice our lives for them.
